The Company has been started in October 2005 by Dr. Lutz Weber and Prof. Dr. Ludger Wessjohann, both having worked on the discovery and development of novel biologically active molecules, new materials and natural products in various companies and institutions in their past. Dr. Robert Rennert is responsible for our biology, Timo Böhme for text mining technologies and Ulf Laube for chemoinformatics.

OntoChem is building a network of scientific collaborations and corporate partners to integrate its chemoinformatics technologies with "wet-lab" biology and synthetic chemistry to enable the seamless transition from first target ideas up to the synthesis and characterization of potential development candidates.
